Beaverlodge Regional Team History: The Beaverlodge Royals are 3-peat Northwest zone champs, and are proud to represent at provincials again this season. A strong finish at the U of A tournament to start the season, followed up with two gold medal wins, and one runner-up prior to zones. The Royals are a determined group, hardworking, and they are ready to bring their best!
Calgary Christian High School Team History: The Cougars had an abbreviated season like many others this year because of the teacher strike. Despite the lack of games the boys still had a successful year. They competed at the University of Calgary, Ernest Manning and Sherwood Park tournaments and came away with a first and third place finish. The boys are coming off of back to back wins in the past two provincial championships at the 2A level, they are looking to compete and enjoy the elevated competition!
Central Alberta Christian Team History: We are the Central Alberta Christian High School or you could call us CACHS (pronounced cash). Although the season was cut short, we have made the best of it and competed as hard as we could. Some of our highlights include winning the RDP tournament, doing well at the U of A tournament and competing against some high level teams including the top 5A team Lindsay Thurber. We are looking forward to the exciting weekend ahead of us!
Coaldale Prairie Winds Secondary Team History: The wild are in their second year of a brand new school located in Coaldale Alberta. They were previously Kate Andrews Pride and this is now their 5th straight Provincials appearance dating back to 2021. The team will graduate 5 seniors that are major contributors in every match with some impressive depth in grade 10 and 11.
Volleyball - Stringam
Edmonton Christian Team History: The Edmonton Christian Lions are excited to represent the Edmonton Zone (wildcard) at this year's 3A Volleyball Championships in Grande Prairie. We look forward to challenging the best 3A volleyball teams in the Province to some great matches and hope to contend for the Banner.
Holy Rosary Team History: Our road to the championship has been defined by growth, resilience, and trust. As a fairly young team, we’ve worked hard to build our chemistry and strengthen our system, pushing each other to improve every week. With a season record that reflects both our battles and our progress, we now look ahead to the weekend excited to see just how much higher we can climb in our chemistry and execution on the court.
Millwoods Christian Team History: The Royals opened their season on a high note, finishing first in Division 2 at the U of A tournament and earning back-to-back runner-up results at both the CACHS and Prairie Winds tournaments. They let their faith in God guide their words and actions on and off the court, and they are eager to test themselves against the top teams in the province.
Monsignor McCoy High Team History: The Monsignor McCoy Colts have been the definition of a wildcard this season. The Colts captured the SEVL Banner, showcasing their dominance in league play. They continued that momentum at tournaments across the province, placing top 5 in every tournament. Their contributions—on and off the court—have set the standard for the next generation of Colts volleyball.
Alberta Pulse Growers
Peace Wapiti Academy Team History: The Titans are the host for this years provincials and tailor a roster of a veteran group. They have had success winning both the Edwin Parr and Barrhead tournaments this year and holding their own with top end teams from around Alberta. The titans will look to end their season on a high note and to do their part in hosting a great championships.
R.F. Staples Secondary Team History: R.F. Staples Thunderbirds play out of Westlock AB and are excited to be representing R.F. Staples Secondary School and the North Central Zone at the 3A Boys Provincial Championship. In a shortened season this year we played in five tournaments winning gold in the Strathcona Christian Academy tournament and silver in our home tournament. Our season was capped off with an exciting win at the North Central Zone Championship winning 16-14 over a tough Barrhead team.
St. Joseph Collegiate (Brooks) Team History: #goCrusaders #defendtheSHIELD St. Joseph's Collegiate is excited to send our first boys team to a Volleyball Provinicals. This season the team participated in the South East Volleyball League in Medicine Hat as well as 5 tournaments having a respectful match win record of 24-8. We wish all the teams the best of luck at Provincials.
Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School Team History: The Spartans showed determination and growth throughout the season that had only a few seasoned returning players. What started as a rookie team has developed into a solid group of players. They competed in numerous tournaments in the early season as well as in the highly competitive 2A-4A Foothills Athletic Council league. We are excited to be returning to the provincial tournament after a few years away and look forward to the provincial championship competition.
